Is it safe to delete Google Updater download cache?

Update packages for Google Chrome and other Google apps, kept by Google Updater so later updates can be smaller.

Safe

Its owner recreates it by itself when it needs it, and nothing you made is lost.

~/Library/Application Support/Google/GoogleUpdater/crx_cache

/Library/Application Support/Google/GoogleUpdater/crx_cache

What it is

Google Updater keeps the last update package it downloaded for Chrome and each other Google app here, at most one per app, so it can apply smaller differential updates next time. The copy in your Library folder belongs to the updater for your account, and the one in the main Library folder to the updater for all users.

If it's removed

The next update of each Google app may download the full package instead of a smaller update.

How it's removed

Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it.

PRO

The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It starts checked in the Cleanup checklist, except inside Documents or Desktop.
