Is it safe to delete .mypy_cache folder?
Type-checking results mypy saves so later checks only redo the work for code that changed.
Safe
Its owner recreates it by itself when it needs it, and nothing you made is lost.
~/
- Never inside ~/
Library
What it is
mypy, a type checker for Python, stores what it learns about your code and its dependencies in a .mypy_cache folder where it runs, and reuses it so later checks are faster. It creates the folder again on the next run. The folder stays behind in projects you no longer work on.
If it's removed
The next type check of the project takes longer.
How it's removed
Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It starts checked in the Cleanup checklist, except inside Documents or Desktop.
