Is it safe to delete Archives in Downloads?
Compressed archives you downloaded, such as .zip files. Often you've already opened them and have the extracted copy.

What it is
Downloads often arrive as compressed archives. Safari decompresses files such as .zip archives after downloading them, and opening a .zip file in Finder puts its contents in the same folder, so the original archive may no longer be needed. An archive can also be the only copy of what's inside, so check before removing it.
If it's removed
If you haven't kept the extracted files, what was inside the archive is gone until you download it again.
How it's removed
Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It's never checked for you: it waits for your choice.
