Is it safe to delete Vivaldi website data?

Offline data that websites and web apps stored in Vivaldi, such as service worker caches and IndexedDB databases.

Usually safe

It can be recreated, but it takes a download, a reinstall or the tool's own command.

~/Library/Application Support/Vivaldi/{Default,Profile *}/{Service Worker,IndexedDB}

What it is

Vivaldi is built on Chromium, and websites can store data in it so they load faster and work offline: service workers keep their own caches, and web apps keep databases in IndexedDB. Each Vivaldi profile has its own copy, and a single site can store several gigabytes. Vivaldi keeps this data until the site or you remove it.

If it's removed

You're signed out of the websites you clear, their saved preferences are reset, and web apps that work offline download their data again. Anything a web app saved only on this Mac, such as unsynced drafts, is lost.

What to do instead

In Vivaldi, choose Tools > Delete Browsing Data, choose a time range, select Cookies and Storage, and click Delete.

FREE

The free analyzer finds it and explains it, with these steps. The app doesn't remove it for you.
