Is it safe to delete Adobe media cache?

Conformed audio, peak and index files that Premiere Pro and other Adobe video apps create for imported media.

Safe

Its owner recreates it by itself when it needs it, and nothing you made is lost.

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/{Media Cache Files,Media Cache}

What it is

When you import video and audio, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Media Encoder create media cache files so playback is faster, and keep a database in the Media Cache folder that links them to your footage. The files stay after a project is finished, so the folders grow over time. The apps recreate what they need when you open a project, and your footage, projects and exports aren't affected.

If it's removed

The next time you open a project, it takes longer while the media cache is rebuilt.

How it's removed

Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it. Quit Adobe Premiere Pro first.

PRO

The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It starts checked in the Cleanup checklist, except inside Documents or Desktop.
