Is it safe to delete Microsoft Edge cache?

Web pages, images and scripts that Edge saved so websites load faster, with a folder for each Edge profile.

Safe

Its owner recreates it by itself when it needs it, and nothing you made is lost.

~/Library/Caches/Microsoft Edge

What it is

Microsoft Edge is built on Chromium and keeps its web cache and compiled script cache here, in a folder for each profile, separate from your profile data in Application Support. Edge downloads anything it needs again, so your favorites, passwords, history and open tabs aren't affected.

If it's removed

Websites load more slowly the first time you visit them again, while the browser downloads their content again. You stay signed in to websites, and your bookmarks, history and passwords aren't affected.

How it's removed

Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it. Quit Microsoft Edge first.

PRO

The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It starts checked in the Cleanup checklist, except inside Documents or Desktop.
