Is it safe to delete GarageBand and Logic Pro sound library?
Instruments, samples, Apple Loops and lessons that GarageBand, and Logic Pro 11 or earlier, install for everyone on this Mac.
Usually safe
It can be recreated, but it takes a download, a reinstall or the tool's own command.

What it is
GarageBand downloads its instruments, drummers, Apple Loops and Learn to Play lessons into these shared folders, and Logic Pro 11 or earlier and MainStage 3 use the same sound library. It grows as you download more sounds. Logic Pro 12 and later keep their sounds in a Logic Pro Library bundle in your Music folder, made as a copy that shares storage with these files, so removing these files frees little space while that bundle exists.
If it's removed
GarageBand and older versions of Logic Pro ask to download sounds again, and songs that use removed instruments or loops play without them until you do.
What to do instead
Open System Settings > General > Storage, click the Info button next to Music Creation, select the content you don't need, then click Delete. To get sounds back, open GarageBand and choose GarageBand > Sound Library > Download All Available Sounds or Reinstall Sound Library.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it, with these steps. The app doesn't remove it for you.
