Is it safe to delete Logic Pro Library?
The sound library of Logic Pro 12 and MainStage 4: patches, samples, Apple Loops and the sound packs you download.
Usually safe
It can be recreated, but it takes a download, a reinstall or the tool's own command.
~/
What it is
Starting with Logic Pro 12 and MainStage 4, all the sounds the apps include, and every sound pack you download, are kept in this single bundle in your Music folder. It grows with each pack you download. When Logic Pro 12 first opens, it builds the bundle from your earlier sound library as a copy that shares storage, so the two don't take up the space twice. Logic Pro manages the packs inside the bundle, and the bundle can be moved to another drive.
If it's removed
Projects that use a deleted pack open with missing patches, samples or loops until you download the pack again from the Sound Library.
What to do instead
In Logic Pro, choose Logic Pro > Sound Library, click Manage Packs, then click Delete next to the packs you don't use. To keep the library on another drive, move the bundle there, then choose it in Logic Pro > Settings > General > Sound Library.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it, with these steps. The app doesn't remove it for you.
