Is it safe to delete Simulator discarded app data?

Data from apps you reinstalled or removed in a simulator, which the simulator set aside to delete but kept.

Safe

Its owner recreates it by itself when it needs it, and nothing you made is lost.

~/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Devices/*/data/Library/Caches/com.apple.containermanagerd/Dead

What it is

When you reinstall or remove an app in a simulator, for example by running it again from Xcode, the simulator can move the app's old data into a folder named Dead to delete later. Developers have reported that these folders aren't always emptied, even after a restart, and can reach many gigabytes. The current data of your apps isn't stored here.

If it's removed

None for the apps and data you're using. Only data the simulator had already discarded is removed.

How it's removed

Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it. Quit Simulator first.

PRO

The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It starts checked in the Cleanup checklist, except inside Documents or Desktop.
