Is it safe to delete minikube cache?

Kubernetes images, binaries and machine images minikube has downloaded to start clusters faster.

Usually safe

It can be recreated, but it takes a download, a reinstall or the tool's own command.

~/.minikube/cache

What it is

minikube keeps the files it downloads to start a cluster here: the base image or ISO for the cluster's machine, Kubernetes binaries, and a preloaded bundle of container images for each Kubernetes version. Copies for older versions stay until they're removed. Images you add to minikube's cache yourself are stored here too.

If it's removed

The next time minikube starts a cluster, it downloads the files it needs again. Images you added to the cache yourself need to be added again.

How it's removed

Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it.

PRO

The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It's never checked for you: it waits for your choice.
