Is it safe to delete Poetry virtual environments?

A virtual environment Poetry created for one of your projects, with the project's installed packages.

Usually safe

It can be recreated, but it takes a download, a reinstall or the tool's own command.

~/Library/Caches/pypoetry/virtualenvs/*

What it is

Unless a project is set up to keep its environment inside the project folder, Poetry creates the project's virtual environment here, with all of its installed dependencies. Each folder is named after a project, followed by a short code and the Python version. Environments for projects you've deleted or no longer work on stay until they're removed.

If it's removed

The project can't run until Poetry installs its dependencies again, which creates a new environment and downloads packages again.

How it's removed

Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it.

PRO

The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It's never checked for you: it waits for your choice.
