Is it safe to delete Bundler cache?

Gem information, and sometimes gems, that Bundler keeps to make installs faster.

Safe

Its owner recreates it by itself when it needs it, and nothing you made is lost.

~/.bundle/cache

What it is

Bundler, the dependency manager for Ruby projects, keeps information about available gems from RubyGems.org here so it doesn't have to fetch it all each time. If its global gem cache setting is on, it also keeps downloaded gems and compiled extensions here. Bundler downloads anything it needs again, and your Bundler settings are stored separately.

If it's removed

The next time you install a project's gems, Bundler fetches gem information again and downloads any gems that were cached here.

How it's removed

Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it.

PRO

The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It starts checked in the Cleanup checklist, except inside Documents or Desktop.
