Is it safe to delete CocoaPods cache?
Pods that CocoaPods has downloaded, kept so it doesn't download them again for every project.
Safe
Its owner recreates it by itself when it needs it, and nothing you made is lost.
~/
What it is
CocoaPods keeps a copy of each pod version it downloads, with its podspec, and copies pods from here when a project installs them. The cache grows with every pod version you've used across projects. CocoaPods downloads a pod again the next time a project needs it.
If it's removed
The next pod install downloads the pods it needs again, which takes longer and needs a network connection.
How it's removed
CocoaPods's own cleanup command (pod cache clean --all), run by the app. It removes only what nothing uses, so it frees less than the full size.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It starts checked in the Cleanup checklist, except inside Documents or Desktop. Its size counts as “up to”, because the command removes only what nothing uses.
