Is it safe to delete Claude logs?
Log files from the Claude desktop app, including logs for the MCP servers it runs.
Safe
Its owner recreates it by itself when it needs it, and nothing you made is lost.
~/
What it is
The Claude app writes its own logs here, along with logs for each MCP server you connect, in files whose names start with mcp. They help you and Anthropic troubleshoot problems with the app and its connectors. Claude starts new logs as it runs.
If it's removed
Past logs are gone, so they can't be used to troubleshoot an earlier problem.
How it's removed
Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it. Quit Claude first.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It starts checked in the Cleanup checklist, except inside Documents or Desktop.
