Is it safe to delete Cypress app cache?
Copies of the Cypress test app that Cypress downloads, one for each version your projects have installed.
Usually safe
It can be recreated, but it takes a download, a reinstall or the tool's own command.
~/
What it is
When a project installs the cypress package, Cypress downloads its test app into this shared folder, in a folder for each version. Versions used by older projects stay here until they're removed. Cypress also offers its own options to clear this cache or keep only the current version.
If it's removed
Projects that use Cypress can't open or run tests until the app is downloaded again, which happens when you reinstall the project's dependencies.
How it's removed
Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It's never checked for you: it waits for your choice.
