Is it safe to delete Playwright MCP browser profiles?
Browser profiles that the Playwright MCP server keeps for AI tools, including the websites they're signed in to.
Usually safe
It can be recreated, but it takes a download, a reinstall or the tool's own command.
~/
What it is
When an AI coding tool drives a browser through the Playwright MCP server, the browser uses a persistent profile stored here, one for each browser and workspace. Like a regular browser profile, it keeps cookies, sign-ins and website data between sessions. Playwright MCP creates a new, empty profile the next time it starts.
If it's removed
The browser that AI tools control is signed out of every website and loses its saved website data.
How it's removed
Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It's never checked for you: it waits for your choice.
