Is it safe to delete Box Drive cache?
Copies of Box files you've opened recently, which Box Drive keeps so they open quickly.
Usually safe
It can be recreated, but it takes a download, a reinstall or the tool's own command.
~/
What it is
Box Drive keeps copies of online-only files you've opened here. It uses at least 1 GB and at most 25 GB, and removes a cached file when it hasn't changed for 30 days or a newer version exists in Box. Folders you keep offline are stored separately and can use more space than this limit.
If it's removed
Logging out of Box Drive removes the cache, offline files and pending uploads, so let uploads finish first. Files download again when you open them.
What to do instead
Box Drive manages the size of this cache. Logging out of Box Drive clears it, along with offline files.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it. The app never removes it.
