Is it safe to delete Electron download cache?
Electron releases downloaded when you install Electron in a project, kept so later installs don't download them again.
Safe
Its owner recreates it by itself when it needs it, and nothing you made is lost.
~/
What it is
When a project installs the electron package, it downloads the Electron release for your Mac and keeps the zip file and its checksum here. Later installs of the same version use this copy instead of downloading it again, so the folder grows with each version you install. Projects you've already installed keep their own copy and aren't affected.
If it's removed
The next install of each Electron version downloads it again.
How it's removed
Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It starts checked in the Cleanup checklist, except inside Documents or Desktop.
