Is it safe to delete Gradle caches?
Dependencies, build cache entries and other files that Gradle keeps for all the Java, Kotlin and Android projects you build.
Safe
Its owner recreates it by itself when it needs it, and nothing you made is lost.
~/
What it is
Gradle stores the dependencies it downloads, its local build cache and other generated files here, shared by all your Gradle and Android projects. It downloads or regenerates anything that's missing on the next build. Gradle deletes entries it hasn't used for 7 to 30 days on its own, but the folder can still reach many gigabytes.
If it's removed
The next build of each project downloads its dependencies again and is slower. Offline builds fail until then, and builds that are running at the time may fail.
How it's removed
Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It starts checked in the Cleanup checklist, except inside Documents or Desktop.
