Is it safe to delete mise tool versions?
Versions of Node.js, Python, Go and other tools that mise has installed, one folder for each tool and version.
Review first
It's your own data, or hard to recreate. Decide item by item.
~/
What it is
mise installs each tool version your projects or global settings ask for into this folder, for example installs/node/24.0.0. Versions stay until you remove them, so the folder grows as you upgrade. mise can uninstall a single version, or prune versions that none of the projects you've used with it still ask for.
If it's removed
Projects that need a removed version can't use it until mise installs it again.
What to do instead
mise manages these versions. It can uninstall single versions, or prune the ones none of your projects still ask for.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it. The app never removes it.
