Is it safe to delete Poetry cache folder?
Poetry's folder for downloaded packages and, by default, your projects' virtual environments.
Usually safe
It can be recreated, but it takes a download, a reinstall or the tool's own command.
~/
What it is
Poetry keeps its download caches here, and unless it's set up otherwise, the virtual environments it creates for your projects too. The downloads are recreated as needed, but removing the whole folder also removes those environments. The downloads and each environment are also listed on their own, so you can remove them separately.
If it's removed
Projects whose environments are in this folder can't run until Poetry installs their dependencies again. The next installs download packages again.
How it's removed
Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It's never checked for you: it waits for your choice.
