Is it safe to delete Zed language servers?
Language servers that the Zed editor downloaded to provide code completion and diagnostics for the languages you work in.
Safe
Its owner recreates it by itself when it needs it, and nothing you made is lost.
~/
What it is
When you open a file, Zed automatically downloads the language server for that file's language and keeps it here, in one folder per server. The folder grows as you work in more languages. Zed downloads a server again the next time you open a file that needs it.
If it's removed
The first time you open a file in each language afterward, Zed downloads its language server again, which takes a moment and needs an internet connection.
How it's removed
Moved to the Trash, where you can restore it. Quit Zed first.
The free analyzer finds it and explains it. Removing it is Pro, after a review sheet that lists every move and command. It starts checked in the Cleanup checklist, except inside Documents or Desktop.
